Ho ho ho there,
Well, it's been another year! With the situation being what it is throughout Europe, things remind me a lot of last Christmas season. At least there's no shame in staying home to enjoy the peace and quiet, zone out and get lost in thought – I know that's what I'll be doing.
Wishing happy holidays and a stellar 2022 to you and yours,
What better way to close the year than to welcome a new company into the Futurice family? Earlier in December, we announced a strategic investment in Vuono Group, a business engineering company that aims to increase digital efficiency through process engineering and intelligent automation.
We look forward to delivering meaningful impact alongside the team at Vuono Group in 2022 – if you'd like to learn more, take a look at this announcement post!
In an effort to better understand our clients' challenges and the world around us, our data and AI experts set out to see what we could learn about companies and their mindset based on their digital footprints – data available from open sources, such as job ads, social media posts and investor relations materials. While doing so, they decided to focus on sustainability and how talk translates into action.
That initial experiment has since turned into an ongoing multi-part investigation into how Europe's largest energy companies talk about sustainability, and whether that talk translates into concrete actions – backed by hard data. I wholeheartedly recommend reading the entire series – the best place to start is this introductory article, and you can find the next entry at the end of the story.
When our Stockholm office relocated into another part of the city earlier this year, our employees grew concerned about the safety of the cycling routes leading to the area. As our experts attempted to solve this dilemma in the interest of keeping our employees safe, they had trouble getting access to relevant high-quality data on road safety and traffic accidents.
In this blog post, Johan Lauri and Sonja Lakner talk about the importance of open data, and how its availability can even be a matter of life and death. Talk about a problem worth solving!
When it comes to downtime, container spreaders used in harbors are no different from services like banking or ecommerce: if your systems aren't running as planned, you're bleeding money and losing business. It's been a pleasure and a privilege to help our long-time client Bromma ensure their clients’ spreaders run at maximal uptime and optimal health. Read more in this case story!
The way people work has transformed drastically over the past two years – but don't worry, the world's not quite ready yet, and there are already new changes on the horizon.
In her Authority Magazine interview, Dr. Eeva Raita discusses the trends and disruptions that employers will have to face in the coming years, as well as why it's important for leaders to have the courage to talk about emotions and feelings also in the work context. Have a read – and while you're at it, take a moment to reflect on what these changes might mean for your organization!
The FutuStories blog series highlights the individuals who make up our company. The stories give our employees an opportunity to discuss their career journeys and experiences at Futurice and share what they’ve learned along the way.
This month, Principal Design Director Suvi Helén reflects on her varied journey and how the little career decisions have often proven more impactful than the big ones. The series is part of our Welcome Home campaign – take a lookhereto learn more and read more FutuStories!
