Futuconnect-April-Mobility-Issue

From the editor

The world has changed quite a bit since we sent out the previous issue of FutuConnect. I hope you’re in good health, able to take care of business from home (assuming that’s where you’re working from these days), and coping well with what seems to be the new normal for the time being. And in case remote work is causing you to pull your hair out, just remember – we’re here to help.

The prevailing circumstances are a lot to handle, and we’re deliberately taking a different route this month. The April issue of FutuConnect will focus on mobility. We’ll take a look at the theme from a couple of different angles, from building data-enabled ecosystems to fostering a people-centric mindset.

We’ve been closely involved with the mobility sector for several years, and consequently, understand it well. Most of the articles we’ve produced on this subject have been written primarily with people in the mobility sector in mind, but for this newsletter, we’ve curated a selection of general interest content that we hope will also resonate with readers in other sectors.

Stay safe and healthy,

Pekka Lehtinen

Building trust and creating value – how to use data in mobility ecosystems

As consumer priorities shift in the mobility market, car manufacturers are entering uncharted territory. To come out on top, the industry will need to understand the role of data in the future and focus on building trust in the changing business landscape. This blog by Yannick Engel also has a second part that focuses on leveraging trust and data in urban mobility.

The long haul – how to win the race for the future of urban mobility

Rapid urbanization is creating a growing demand for better urban mobility. Efforts to provide people with the services they need are hampered by the last two decades of mobility providers trying to build their own ecosystems, argues Gianni Cardone.

Staying human-centered in a data economy

When talking about data as the new oil or reveling in the added value it generates, it’s necessary to remember there are people behind that data, as Katja Niggl points out. Whether your business is mobility or something else, the same applies – real business impact comes from listening to people’s needs.
