Good morning fellow developers!
As the summer turns into the fall, is there anything better than enjoying a cup of tea or hot chocolate to start your day? Maybe a few technical articles to inspire and educate!
Here's this month's collection of hand-picked articles to get your day started.
Articles that made us talk
How to build a plugin system on the web and also sleep well at night
“Throughout the history of software, there have been many instances where third-party extensions negatively affected a platform. In some cases, they slowed the tool to a crawl. In other cases, the plugins broke whenever new versions of the platform were released. To the extent that we could control it, we wanted users to have a better plugin experience with Figma.”
TLDR Pages

Now, MDN is collaborating with Caniuse to bring even more information from their data to the developers of the web. If you are building something in the web and are not familiar with caniuse.com, I highly recommend checking it out.
Explicitness and Consistency in UI
In this talk from Futurice Tech Weeklies, Farzad Yousefzadeh talks about hidden complexities in UIs, proper domain modelling and how we underestimate this complexity. Modern UIs are challenging to build because there are so many different ways of interacting with them with different devices, and because there are so many different states your application can be in.
