Megan shares a variety of practices to grow fast as a UI designer. The tips are straightforward and actionable. I would recommend this article to designers who want to grow fast in the UI domain.
The more I learn about UI/UX, the more I notice the importance of UX writing. The article from Nick gives easy examples to share how to communicate your message clearly and respectfully. It is easy and fun to read : )
I enjoy Laura’s writing a lot. In this article, she shares a lot of life philosophy and wisdom. You will never feel ready, so just do it. I also find that the older I get, the easier for me to be in uncertainty. Be at ease with the unknown and embrace it — it is the lesson Laura shares here.
‘Whether a design needs to be accessible?’—this talk with a friend inspired me to write this article. To support my statement, I wrote three articles to explain why we need to consider accessibility in the design phase and how to do it. This article is about how to start documenting accessible notes. I hope it helps more designers to incorporate accessibility into their design process. :-)
When I was little, my mom found me to have a great passion for drawing. One day I was sick and therefore missed one class that taught us to draw a zebra. I cried for the whole day and desperately thought that I would never learn how to draw a zebra in my entire life.
Later, I started my career by hoping to make things pretty. The more I learn about design, the more fascinating it seems to be. Design is more than making things look nice but about helping people behind the service and making their life easier. Nowadays, I design for helping people and making the world a better place to live.
Name one superpower that makes you different from the others Curiosity is my superpower. I am curious about many questions. To find the answers, I write blogs on Medium about my exploration journey and asked questions like ”the meaning of life” and “What is a dream job for me”. I learn a lot by asking questions and on my journey of finding the correct answer. Because of that, I would say curiosity is my superpower.
Something you feel very grateful for when looking back in your career.. Confucius said, “When three people walk together, I am sure to find teachers among them”. I had inspiring people around me to give me pieces of advice to find my path. Thanks to them, I have learned and grown so much.
One thing you would recommend all designers to try out? Reading–you can learn so much from the writers who spent years studying. When the epidemic started, I couldn't travel much like before. It made me sad because I enjoy traveling a lot. Traveling around the world was one of my life goals together with being a designer. Then I started reading. I find another beautiful world within it. So I would recommend it to anyone :D
Most interesting design case you’ve worked with... I enjoyed working on Posti receiving projects a lot! Imagine using your own design to get your parcel and hearing positive feedback from your friends and colleagues all the time. Great team, huge impact–it is one of my favorite projects in my design career so far!
